Al Pacino (Actor), Tony Roberts (Actor), Sidney Lumet (Director), & Rated: Suitable for 18 years and over Format: DVD. ニューヨークの警察組織の汚職を告発した一人の警官セルピコ。実話の映画化です。監督シドニー・ルメットならではの、リアルなニューヨ−ク、警察内部の描写が見物です。まさに実録ものといった感じです。皆が普通に日常行っている賄賂を受け取るという行為をしないことの難しさ、身近なまわりの警官が敵になっていく恐ろしさがじわじわと描かれています。この時期のアル・パチーノの演技はちょっと凄いです。ゴッドファーザー正続編にはさまれた本作でも、なぜアカデミー賞を逃したのか？というような名演です。２番目の恋人との別れのシーンが辛く悲しい。恋人役の女優さんもいい感じの好演です。ギリシャ風のテーマ曲も良いです。今観て難があるとするとちょっと長過ぎるところ（１２５分）。地道にドキュメントのようにそのまま映画化しているのだろうが、上層部とのやりとりなど繰り返しが多いように感じられた（監督にしてみたらその描写も必要不可欠なのかもしれないが・・・）。トニー・ロバーツ、コーネリア・シャープ（ヌードもあり）共演。テレビ放映時には、コーネリアのシーンは丸ごとカットされていたように思う。画質は並み。字幕のフォントが粗く見難い。一か所だけ画面の上部に字幕が焼き付けられているところもあり、何か雑な感じがする字幕の仕様です。メニューも含めユニバーサルというメジャーのＤＶＤという感じはしないです。どちらかといえば国産のジェネオンって感じですか・・・。
