Based in Hanson, Massachusetts, the Olde Hitching Post was purchased by owner Tom to give to his daughter to run in 2005. The Hitching Post is where Miles and Jack meet up with Maya and Stephanie. The harvest is just beginning and the perfect time for a weekend pinot noir jaunt to the Santa Ynez Valley, a scenic two-hour drive from Los Angeles. This building is now Santa Barbara Airstream next to the Hitching Post II. NO HAPPY HOUR. Be there by 4:15 to get a seat at the bar. In 1981 they discovered Santa Barbara pinot noir, which has become their primary focus, although their Pinks dry rosé is delightful to sip on a hot afternoon at one of the tasting room’s outdoor picnic tables overlooking the valley and the frolicking ostriches at the farm next door. It was good, not great but glad we went.
