Wonderful book. Most of the principles seem to be pretty much commonsense things that my family does anyway, so it wasn't life changing.

Good tips but nothing groundbreaking.I got some good ideas from this book, and felt validated that it's ok that we have dinner at 4:00 without Dad.
He also talks about the importance of resiliency and other family secrets.
Instead, he shares dozens and dozens of nuggets from academia, family studies and his own interviews.
I found this book very insightful for me, I'm one of those guys that isn't quite sure how to be a family man, or what it takes to even be a good one.

I guess he is also the author of “secrets for happy wives”, and “secrets for happy husbands” and people were upset with him for his definition of famiI really enjoyed this book. Auch kommt öfter der amerikanische Stil des Über-Begeisterten und Hochmotivierten durch, was nicht so mein Fall ist.
I will definitely recommend it to my clients.

Mr. Feiler's book is excellent, fun to read, thought-provoking.

Called it good after a few chapters.Did not finish the book. The Secrets of Happy Families: Eight Keys to Building a Lifetime of Connection and Contentment Nevertheless, as of now, I found it very interesting, full of ideas that I would consider implementing in the future.

The story of your family is such an important hinge for your kids to understand their context in the world. So, I could well be revising my opinion over Feiler’s work as the years go on.
