Webster was born July 20, 1942 in Guilford County to Sam and Martha Thompson Webster. He served in the United States Navy for 2 years and retired from the North Carolina Highway Patrol as First Sergeant after 32 years of service. He was an avid golfer at Oakwoods Country Club, a big fan of the North Carolina State Wolf Pack and the Carolina Panthers.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife; Debra Jean Hollar Webster of the home, a daughter; Kim Reese and husband Scott of Vilas, NC, a son; Kurt Webster and wife Deidra of Conover, two step-sons; Michael Lankford and wife; Nathalie of Waxhaw and Woody Lankford and wife Mindy of Granite Falls, seven grandchildren; Walker Reese, Kellyn Reese, Keaton Webster, Woody Lankford, III, Noah Lankford, Coleman Lankford and Emma Lankford and one brother; Steve Webster of Richmond, VA.
