The lively beach life will transport you and the white sand beach may cause you to forget that you're basically in downtown Racine. Don’t expect what you might be used to compared to its bigger brother zoos (Brookfield, Milwaukee, Lincoln Park), but that was a good thing. There's a playground and an open air picnic pavilion in the park. It was truly amazing !! The department manages parks totaling over 1,100 acres, 5 community centers, and many other facilities to provide a wide variety of recreational opportunities. This is a lovely, small zoo beautifully located on scenic Lake Michigan. There are a few old cars in the deepest part of this lake along with an old safe and slot machines.
