The lion are in short supply because of pride feuding and lack of buffalo. I didn’t think I was that interested in the bird life, but I definitely was by the end. Out in the bush the lions are certainly the stars of the show, while in camp our wine cellar stocks some of the most wonderful South African wines, we hope you took full advantage and helped yourself to anything that appealed to you. Duba Plains is a camp unlike any other in a setting unlike any other. Our guide Vundi was exceptionally knowledgeable. The camp is set in the heart of the 33 000 hectare private reserve which comprises a matrix of palm-dotted islands, flood plains and woodland, this is typical of the region’s unique landscape and although the flood water is significantly less and later to arrive than previous years we are indeed seeing a push coming into the reserve from the Ngoka channel. As a Great Plains Conservation property, there is a commitment to conservation that runs through the management of the property, from the biodegradable soap to the use of solar power.
