Several donors have established funds which provide annual scholarships, each unique in its eligibility requirements. The Capital Region Community Foundation serves the charitable needs and enhances the quality of life in mid-Michigan's Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties. Their important programs and services encourage donors who care to give back through funds at the Community Foundation. The Community Foundation - which serves the District of Columbia, Montgomery County, Northern Virginia, and Prince George’s County – makes community change through charitable giving … The Greater Washington Community Foundation works to strengthen the Washington metropolitan region by encouraging and supporting effective giving and by providing leadership on critical issues in our community. Their important programs and services encourage donors who care to give back through funds at the Community Foundation.

Eligibility criteria may be based on where a student went to high school, what a student’s planned major field of study will be, or a variety of other factors. In that time, we have awarded more than $60 million in grants to programs throughout the counties we serve.In addition, the Community Foundation partners with local philanthropists to create scholarships for deserving students.

On June 9, 2020, Blue Shield of Northeastern NY announced a contribution of $125,000, increasing the fund’s total raised dollars to $1,057,000.
