I experienced many of the iossues mentioned above, In one out and back half marathon the water stations and finish line were taken down with many of us still on the course. Most importantly, I now have fun and enjoy races.

I have one friend who ran a half marathon while she was undergoing chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. My marathon goal time is sub-5 hours. “Completed my first marathon today! Some races have been known to start taking down the finish line before the advertized cut off time which is not cool. I realize this was dumb now, and really encourage all first timers to own YOUR goal, because nobody else can run your race for you.
